Mid-Distance Trail Races in Spain 2026 (Page 2)

Intermediate-level races are the natural next step after your first trail events. Here distances range from 20 to 45 km, elevation gains move between 1,000 and 2,500 positive metres, and the terrain starts to include technical sections that demand concentration. Having an aerobic base is no longer enough: you need to train specific elevation, manage race nutrition and know your gear inside out. It is the level where many runners discover their true passion for the mountains, because intermediate races take you to spectacular places without the logistical pressure of an ultra. Spain offers a huge range in this category: from classic mountain marathons to ridge traverses that combine scenic beauty with technical challenge.
