Mountain Races in Spain 2026 (Page 2)

Mountain races are the essence of trail running in Spain. Courses that climb peaks, cross ridges and descend through valleys where the terrain demands both physical endurance and technical ability. From the Pyrenees to Sierra Nevada, through the Picos de Europa and Sierra de Guadarrama, Spain offers an unmatched setting for this type of event. Accumulated elevation gain takes centre stage: many mountain races exceed 1,000 m of positive gain even at medium distances. This makes them a challenge where effort management on climbs and technique on descents make the difference. The terrain varies — rock, dirt, grass, occasional snow at high altitudes — and changes with the season and elevation. If you are looking for races where the scenery takes your breath away (in every sense), mountain races are your category. Each race includes its Pack 360 with everything you need to arrive prepared at the start line.
