Eurafrica Trail 2026: what to expect

This is the Cádiz stage of the Eurafrica Trail, a multi-stage intercontinental event: it runs along the Río de la Miel, the Puerto de la Higuera, the fire breaks of Pico Vacas and the Manzanete path, between 44 and 775 m of altitude.

The race takes place on 31 October 2026 in Algeciras, in the Campo de Gibraltar area (Andalucía), with start and finish at the Inturjoven hostel in El Pelayo. It is organised by Jaleoo Entertainment Solutions S.L. and the long race starts at 09:00. Registration closed on 7 October.

Routes and elevation

There is a single route: 21K Selva de Cádiz (21.6 km, ≈1,100 m D+). Elevation marked with ≈ is approximate, calculated from the tracks published by the organisers, so check it against the official profile. The long race means about 51 m of climbing per kilometre, so pace the ascents and look for good grip on the descents.

Preparation and gear

In late October and early November mornings are cool and afternoons mild, so dress in layers and carry a light windbreaker in your vest. Shoes with medium lugs, a hydration vest with at least half a litre and some solid food for the aid stations cover most situations. If the climbing worries you, folding poles can help on the final stretch.
