Trail running glove comparison tool

Pick up to 5 gloves and compare them in a table with the best of each row highlighted: warmth, waterproofing, wind protection, dexterity and pole compatibility. With 2 or 3 models you also get a radar. The levels are an editorial classification based on what each brand states, not lab measurements.

Frequently asked questions about trail running gloves

    Waterproof or windproof?

A windproof glove is thinner, breathes better and is enough for dry cold. A waterproof (membrane) glove pays off in sustained rain or snow, at the cost of some bulk and less breathability.

What do the warmth and dexterity levels mean?

Three levels (low, medium, high) that we assign from what each brand states: lining, thickness and fabric type. They are not lab measurements, which is why we show no grams or degrees.

When is a thin merino glove worth it?

For mild temperatures or as a liner under a windproof or waterproof glove. It weighs next to nothing and fits in a vest pocket.

    Are they compatible with poles?

Most are, but only models with a dedicated system, like the LEKI Storm Shark, clip straight into the grip. We flag it in the “Pole system” row.

Which glove for a winter ultra?

Prioritise warmth and waterproofing and carry a spare pair: wet hands feel much colder. An extra thin glove weighs very little.

Why are not all gloves listed?

We only include catalogue models whose main features the brand states clearly. If one is missing, we cannot classify it rigorously.

Can I use my phone with them?

It depends on the model and not every listing confirms it, so we do not compare it here. Check the product page before buying if it matters to you.

How do I get the size right?

Measure around your palm below the knuckles and check the brand’s size chart. A running glove should fit snugly without squeezing, so you keep your dexterity.
