Becerro Trail 2026: what to expect

This is the fifth edition of this mountain race in the Serranía de Ronda, organised by the town council with the help of the clubs MTB Apriety and Fitness Cuevas. Besides the two competitive races there is a 12 km hike and children’s races.

The race takes place on 31 October 2026 in Cuevas del Becerro, in the Serranía de Ronda area (Andalucía), with start and finish at the Nacimiento spring in Cuevas del Becerro. It is organised by Ayuntamiento de Cuevas del Becerro and the long race starts at 09:00. Registration closes on 26 October at 14:00.

Routes and elevation

There are 2 routes: CxM Becerro Trail (25 km, 1,000 m D+) and MiniCxM Becerro Trail (15 km, 500 m D+). Elevation comes from the organisers’ official data. The long race means about 40 m of climbing per kilometre, so pace the ascents and look for good grip on the descents.

Preparation and gear

In late October and early November mornings are cool and afternoons mild, so dress in layers and carry a light windbreaker in your vest. Shoes with medium lugs, a hydration vest with at least half a litre and some solid food for the aid stations cover most situations. If the climbing worries you, folding poles can help on the final stretch.
