RunThrough Trails Berchtesgaden is the inaugural German edition of RunThrough, a trail event brand already running races in the UK and Asia. The debut, set for October 17, 2026, picks a top-tier setting: the Bavarian Alps around Berchtesgaden, with the Watzmann and Lake Königssee as the backdrop. Three distances, one alpine stage

The event offers three routes: a 12K (600 m elevation gain) as an accessible introduction to alpine trail, a 26K (1,300 m elevation gain) for those seeking a mid-distance challenge, and the flagship 44K, described as an “alpine marathon route,” with about 2,200 metres of elevation gain among limestone peaks, ice caves, and waterfalls. It is, by far, the most demanding course of the three German races TrailRunTemple covers this season.

An international brand’s debut

An organiser with a presence in the UK and Asia choosing Berchtesgaden for its German launch says a lot about the area’s international appeal.
