Medium Distance Trail Races in Spain 2026 (Page 2)

Medium distance races, between 21 and 42 km, represent the sweet spot of trail running: enough distance for a complete mountain experience without the logistics or wear of an ultra. These events demand a solid aerobic base, smart nutrition management and the ability to maintain pace for 3 to 6 hours. In Spain, medium distances are the most popular on the calendar: mountain marathons, trail half marathons and traverses crossing valleys, passes and iconic ridges. Elevation gains range from 1,000 to 3,000 metres, offering challenges for all levels. It is the category where improvement through specific mountain training is most noticeable.
