Berghaus
Berghaus Paclite 2.0 GTX
Waterproof jacket with a Gore-Tex Paclite membrane (around 330 g). Fully waterproof with taped seams, fixed adjustable hood, storm flap behind the zip and cuff adjustment. Packs down small in a vest. Heavier than a pure running hardshell, but it meets the waterproof-breathable membrane requirement in race rules and is the affordable route into Gore-Tex.

Gore Wear
Gore Wear C5 GORE-TEX Glove
Glove with a fully waterproof, windproof GORE-TEX membrane and light insulation. The pick for running in snow, sleet or heavy rain while keeping your hand dry.

Gore Wear
Gore Wear M GORE-TEX Thermo Glove
Warmer variant of the Gore Wear C5 GORE-TEX: the same fully waterproof, windproof membrane, with extra thermal lining for intense cold on top of snow or rain. The pick when the problem isn't just water, but water AND hard cold at once.

Gore Wear

The best-selling gateway trail shoe: comfortable, cushioned and versatile for moving from road to trail. Waterproof GORE-TEX version, perfect for beginners and easy runs on mixed terrain.

Salomon
Salomon Bonatti Pro Waterproof Glove

Amer Mallorca 5000 Skyrunning
The Amer Mallorca 5000 Skyrunning has become one of the most demanding mountain races on the Balearic calendar. Organized by Matina M x Somiar together with the Pollença Mountain Section and the Balearic Mountain Federation, the race celebrates its 9th edition in 2026, connecting Sóller and Pollença across the most iconic peaks of the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
At 72 kilometers with 5,000 meters of positive elevation gain, the flagship distance demands a technical and physical level typical of skyrunning: rock, loose stone and exposed ridges combine with a 17-hour cutoff that leaves no room for pacing mistakes.
A 72K Route Across the Tramuntana Peaks
The course starts at Plaza de Sóller at 6:00 AM and doesn’t let up:
- Barranc de Biniaraix: the day’s first major climb, along one of Mallorca’s most photographed historic trails
- Puig de l’Ofre: the first big peak, with views over the Gorg Blau reservoir
- Massanella: one of the island’s tallest mountains, a technical and demanding stretch
- Lluc: a strategic stop at the sanctuary, a key aid station
- Puig Tomir: the last major climb before the final descent
- Pollença: the finish at the Calvari, with the final stair climb as a symbolic closing stretch
The terrain combines 75% mountain trails, 20% forest tracks and just 5% asphalt, spread across 7 aid stations along the route.
The Mallorca 1000: The One-Day Alternative
For those looking for a shorter experience without giving up the mountain profile, the Mallorca 1000 offers 24 kilometers and 1,060 meters of positive elevation gain, starting at 4:00 PM from the Acolliment de Lluc. The route passes through Coll Pedregaret and Fartàritx du Racó before converging with the long race at the finish in Pollença, with an 8-hour cutoff.
Sóller and Pollença, Beyond the Race
Sóller, with its century-old tram and orange grove valley, is the perfect base before the race: great food options, direct access to Port de Sóller, and proximity to the route’s first kilometers. Pollença, on the other side of the Tramuntana, blends the charm of a traditional Mallorcan town with the Calvari, its 365 steps up to the chapel that crowns the race finish.
If you’re spending several days on the island, plan your stay with the TrailRunTemple planner and combine the race with other events in the Serra de Tramuntana, Balearic Islands.
