Sobrescobio Redes Trail

Sobrescobio Redes Trail is one of the reference events on the Asturian skyrunning calendar, held every October in the Redes Natural Park, designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The event spans a full weekend, starting and finishing in Rioseco, municipality of Sobrescobio.

Two high-mountain categories

The weekend combines two races of different levels:

  • Skyrace (31K, 2,100m climbing) — on Saturday 24, the main distance, with very demanding climbing typical of the international skyrunning calendar.
  • Speed Trail (17.5K, 1,100m climbing) — on Sunday 25, a shorter distance that also serves as the final round of the U23 Trofeo Esteban Olivero.

The Redes Natural Park

Redes is one of the best-preserved natural areas in Asturias, with beech and oak forests, summits over 2,000 metres and a biodiversity that has earned it international recognition as a Biosphere Reserve. Running through this environment combines sporting challenge with landscapes of great ecological value.

Sobrescobio beyond the race

After the race, take the chance to explore the trails of the Redes Natural Park or rest in the surroundings of Rioseco. Discover other mountain races in the Asturias region and check the race planner to plan your visit.
