Trail Races in December in Spain 2026
December closes the year with the last races on the calendar and a special spirit: many events have a festive and charitable character, with charity runs and end-of-season celebrations. Winter conditions limit offerings in high-mountain areas, but the Mediterranean coast, Canary Islands and southern Spain maintain races with manageable temperatures. For runners who do not stop in winter, December offers the chance to maintain fitness, try new routes and close the season with good feelings. It is also the perfect time to plan next season and choose your goals for the new year.

Tips
December has the shortest days: always carry a headlamp even in short races in case it runs long.
Muscle cold increases injury risk: warm up for at least 15 minutes before the start.
December charity races are perfect for group running and enjoying without competitive pressure.
