Ultra Trail Anillo Minero
The Ultra Trail Anillo Minero debuts its first edition on December 5, 2026 in Puertollano (Ciudad Real), with a unique 70 km course and 3,000 m of accumulated elevation gain through the landscape that shaped the region’s industrial history. Organized by DXT Chip Run, the ultra-distance race starts at 5:00 AM from La Central with a 13-hour time limit.
A 70 km route through mining country
The course crosses three municipalities — Puertollano, Hinojosas de Calatrava and Cabezarrubias del Puerto — running through the landscape that gives the Anillo Minero its name: former mines, mining tracks and terrain transformed by the industrial activity that defined this part of Ciudad Real for decades. The organization sets up ten aid stations along the route, plus medical service and ambulance coverage. Plan your nutrition strategy for up to 13 hours of effort.
Nighttime start and a flexible format
The race starts at 5:00 AM, still dark, which requires an approved headlamp for the first hours. The Anillo Minero allows three formats: individual, pairs and four-runner relay teams, a setup that opens ultra distance to those who prefer to share the effort with their team.
Puertollano beyond the race
Puertollano is the second-largest city in Ciudad Real province and retains a strong industrial and mining legacy worth exploring beyond race day. The city has its own hotel offer and good rail and road connections to Madrid, making it a convenient base for the weekend. Check out the rest of the races in Castile-La Mancha and add the Anillo Minero to your season planner.
