Trail du Cap Sicié: winter with sea views
Cap Sicié is a wooded headland dropping sheer into the Mediterranean between Six-Fours and La Seyne-sur-Mer, crowned by the chapel of Notre-Dame-du-Mai. Its forest is a protected natural area and, on the first Sunday of December, the stage for a trail that mixes technique and pace.
Two distances
- Trail 27 km: 1,000 m D+
- Trail 14 km: 500 m D+
- Free kids’ races of 0.9 and 1.2 km
A varied course
Pine trails, limestone and clifftop paths: runnable stretches alternate with short climbs and technical descents. December weather in the Var is usually mild and sunny, but the mistral can blow hard. Low winter light over the sea means sunscreen and sunglasses are still worth packing.
The Var beyond the race
Visit the Embiez islands, Sanary-sur-Mer or Toulon. A week later the Trail de Noël in Ollioules is just a few kilometres away. Find more among the races in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and in the race planner.
