Lodosa Trail: two routes through the hills of the Ebro valley

The Lodosa Trail is a mountain race organised by the Club de Atletismo de Lodosa and the Lodosa Town Council. On 14 November 2026 it holds its second edition, starting and finishing on Calle Ancha in front of the town hall, in the heart of this Navarrese Ebro valley town.

There are two distances: El Medianil (16 km / 600 m D+, 10:00 start) and El Ferial (8 km / 250 m D+, 10:30 start). The cap is 300 runners, 150 per distance, so places go fast.

A route over the Lodosa hills

Both circuits leave through the old town streets (Calle Ancha, Calle el Aire, Calle Calvario and Calle Florida) and climb the hills overlooking the Ebro:

  • Old water tanks and Águila peak, with views over the river valley
  • Cascabelera and Juguetona, short, steep climbs
  • Avaz gully and periquillo, on El Medianil only
  • La Cruz and Tres Marías, before returning to the finish via Calle el Aire

The terrain is trails and dirt tracks with no major altitude. The profile is rolling: elevation gain packed into short climbs that reward rhythm and fresh legs.

A small race with village atmosphere

With at most 300 runners it is an intimate event, with a liquid aid station at km 5, solid food at km 12 (El Medianil) and a lunch at the finish. Entry includes a runner’s bag and insurance.

November brings cool temperatures and possibly damp ground. If it is raining or windy, a windproof jacket is mandatory.

Lodosa beyond the race

Lodosa is a riverside town with a historic centre and market gardens on the Ebro, at the gateway to La Rioja. Take the chance to eat local valley vegetables and explore the area.

Check out the other races in Navarre and plan your season with the planner.
