Urduñako Mendi Lasterketa
The Urduñako Mendi Lasterketa is the mountain race of Urduña (Orduña), the only inland city in Bizkaia and one of the oldest in the Basque Country. Organised by the Gualdetxu MBTT association, it reaches its 9th edition in 2026 with three formats: a 33 km individual trail, a relay race and a 14 km popular race. Start and finish are in Fueros Square, in the heart of the old town.
A 33 km route through the Sierra Salvada
The 33 km, 1,750 m D+ trail is a loop through rivers, waterfalls and ancient beech forests. It passes Tertanga, the Fraileburu rock formation and Mount Txolope, descends the historic Castile-Bizkaia road, climbs Bedarbide (1,041 m, the high point) between streams and waterfalls, follows the Senda Negra under spectacular cliffs and returns through the Valle de los Milanos.
