Trail do Xurés

The Trail do Xurés is a mountain race organised by the Muíños town council in collaboration with NOKAO, held on 3 October 2026 in the south of Ourense province. It is part of the Silver Series of the Galicia Trail Running Series 2026 and offers a day of sport and nature on high-mountain paths, ancient Roman roads and crystal-clear rivers around the Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés Natural Park.

Start and finish are at the O Corgo Tourist Complex in Muíños, and both distances set off at 10:30.

Two distances, 100% on tracks and trails

  • Trail Advance 21K: 21 km with 580 m of elevation gain. Aid stations at about km 9 and 16.
  • Trail Adventure 14K: 14 km with 400 m D+. Aid station at about km 9.

A friendly, runnable profile, ideal if you want to step up to 20 km on trails or collect points in the Galician circuit. The organisers warn that the course is not closed to traffic, so traffic rules must be respected at all times.

Gear and logistics

Only an operational mobile phone and a thermal blanket are mandatory, and the organisers may waive the blanket if the forecast is good. Showers are at the complex campsite and bibs are collected on the day, from 9:00 to 10:30. Review the mandatory gear checklist and the trail shoe guides to choose footwear for October terrain.

Baixa Limia beyond the race

Muíños sits next to the Portuguese border, in a region of forests, rivers and hot springs (those of Lobios are very close, perfect for recovering your legs). For more challenges nearby, see the races in Galicia and plan your season with the planner.
