Trail La Cangrexa
Trail La Cangrexa is held every October in Barcia, a village in the municipality of Valdés very close to Luarca, in western Asturias. Organized by the INGOA club, the race covers one of the most attractive coastal stretches in this part of Asturias.
A path among western Asturian beaches
The route starts at the Pradón recreation area, in Barcia, and follows the coastal path passing the beaches of Portizuelo, del Chao and de Cueva, with the Cantabrian Sea as a backdrop throughout. The Trail (14K) and Andarina (10K) categories share much of the course, adapted for both runners and those who prefer to complete it on foot.
Western Asturias and its beaches
The Valdés area holds some of the least crowded beaches on the Asturian coast, with cliffs, wide sandy stretches and more secluded coves. Autumn offers quiet conditions to enjoy this coastal stretch, away from the summer crowds.
Valdés beyond the race
