Trail Salas Virgen del Viso

The Trail Salas Virgen del Viso reaches its seventh edition in 2026, on Sunday 22 November. Organised by Club Deportivo Ludus Team together with Salas Town Council, it is one of the last dates in the Asturian autumn calendar and a good season finale for anyone after a short, technical, local race.

A 13.6 km course with a Camino flavour

The 13.6 km trail strings together stretches of the Camino Primitivo, old paths between meadows, streams and stone tracks. Published elevation figures vary by source (around 890 m of climbing in some), so check the official track before race day. The rhythm is broken: little flat, short and steep ups and downs, and ground that is usually damp in late November.

For those who prefer to walk, the Andarines route (8 km, about 480 m of climbing) is non-competitive with no prizes, but shares the atmosphere and setting of the day.

Organisation and atmosphere

Start and finish are by the church square in Salas, with the Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayor as backdrop. Numbers are capped and the organisers hand out medals and gifts by category instead of prize money, giving the day a friendly, grassroots feel. The entry includes accident insurance, chip, aid stations, T-shirt, parking and showers.

Salas beyond the race

Use the weekend to stroll the town and its historic centre, with the Collegiate Church and the Valdés Salas Palace area. Discover other races in the Asturias region and plan your season with the race planner.
