Muntanyes de Prades Epic Trail

The Muntanyes de Prades Epic Trail takes runners into the heart of the Serra de Prades, deep inland from the Costa Daurada. The race climbs to the Tossal de la Baltassana, the massif’s highest peak, along semi-technical trails, historic hermitages, and some of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Baix Camp region.

The 2026 edition takes place on November 7 and 8, starting and finishing in the village of Prades.

Three distances, one massif

  • 50K CDF (Cingleres de la Febró) — The flagship distance: 49 km and 2,500m of elevation gain, with a 12-hour time limit. Covers the toughest sections of the Serra de Prades.
  • 25K EDA (Ermita de l’Abellera) — 24 km and 1,300m D+. Passes the historic hermitage that gives the race its name.
  • 13K TDB (Tossal de la Baltassana) — 13 km and 700m D+. Climbs directly to the top of the massif, ideal for a first mountain trail experience.

The event also includes a non-competitive 7K Kids race for families.

A course past hermitages and viewpoints

The route combines Mediterranean mountain forest, semi-technical trails over rock, and forest track sections. Trail shoes with good grip are essential, and poles help a lot with the accumulated elevation gain on the 50K CDF. Prize money — up to €13,000 on offer — draws some of Catalonia’s best mountain runners each year.

Inland Costa Daurada

Prades is one of the most charming villages in the Baix Camp, known for its distinctive reddish stone and its surrounding forests and cliffs. Combining the race with a visit to Reus or Tarragona lets you discover both the mountainous interior and the Mediterranean coast on the same trip. Plan your full stay with our race planner.

Registration

Registration is managed through AvaibookSports, with promotional rates in the early phases. The 50K CDF, as the event’s flagship race, usually sees the highest registration demand.
