Trail La Pomar
Trail La Pomar was born in 2026 with a clear idea: use trail running to showcase Langreo’s natural heritage and bring back paths that generations of local people walked for years. The first edition took place on Saturday 26 September 2026 at 10:00, in La Pomar, La Felguera.
A route through the hills of La Felguera
The course is around 12 km with about 650 m of positive elevation, combining traditional tracks and paths in the hills around La Pomar. These routes were tied for decades to mining, farming and rural life in the Nalón valley, and today make an accessible trail setting. The profile lets you run steadily, with sustained climbs that reward a good climbing rhythm and descents where grippy shoes help if the ground is wet.
The organisers present the race as open to both experienced runners and people taking their first steps in the mountains, with aid stations along the route. Participants could also create a virtual charity bib to add their kilometres to a good cause.
What to expect in autumn
Late September in Asturias is usually mild but changeable: rain and mud are possible, so a light windbreaker and shoes with good lugs make a difference. With the first edition already run, this page lets you prepare your gear early while the organisers confirm the race’s future.
Langreo beyond the race
La Felguera and the Nalón valley have a rich industrial past, still visible in their heritage and routes. If you visit, combine it with other races in the Asturias region and plan your season with the race planner.
