MOUNTAINMAN Nesselwang
MOUNTAINMAN Nesselwang is a mountain trail event in the heart of the Allgäu, the region of alpine meadows, lakes and peaks in southern Bavaria. Start and finish are at the Trendsportweg in Nesselwang, a village that lives for mountain sport all year round.
Five courses for every level
- XXL-Trail (ultra): 70 km and over 3,900 m of climbing, the challenge for ultrarunners.
- XL-Trail: 42 km and 2,750 m of climbing, a proper mountain marathon.
- L-Trail: 33 km and 2,000 m of climbing.
- M-Trail by Altra: 22 km and 1,300 m of climbing.
- S-Trail: 10 km and 800 m of climbing, ideal for a first race.
The courses link the Wasserfallweg, the climb to the Alpspitze, the Grüntensee lake area and the Pfeifferberg ascent, with views towards Neuschwanstein Castle.
May in the Allgäu
In early May snow can remain at altitude and mud is common. Lugged shoes work best, and do not trust the morning sun: the afternoon can bring rain.
The Allgäu beyond the race
Stay on Sunday to visit Füssen, Neuschwanstein or the lakes of the area.
Discover more races in Bavaria, the rest of Germany and plan your season with the race planner.
Mandatory Gear

Recommended: weather in the Allgäu Alps can change within minutes
