Tiñosa Trail

Tiñosa Trail is the mountain race of Priego de Córdoba, in the heart of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park (a UNESCO Global Geopark). Its signature is the climb to La Tiñosa peak, 1,570 metres, the highest point of Córdoba province. The thirteenth edition (2026) keeps its three distances — a 40-kilometre, 2,400-metre marathon, a 24-kilometre trail and an 11-kilometre mini trail — and makes its debut in the Copa de Andalucía de Carreras por Montaña.

A 40-kilometre course

The marathon starts at the Fuente del Rey, the baroque ensemble of 139 water spouts that earns Priego the nickname “city of water”, and climbs into the sierra on olive-grove and holm-oak tracks. Then comes the limestone karren of the Sierra de Horconera, with scrambles up to the summit of La Tiñosa and demanding technical descents. At more than 55 metres of climbing per kilometre, it is a hard, very vertical race for its distance.

The Subbética: rock and oil

The Sierras Subbéticas are an isolated limestone massif rising from the sea of olive trees in southern Córdoba, with sinkholes, poljes and some of the best karst caves in Andalusia. The area produces olive oil with the Priego de Córdoba designation of origin, repeatedly awarded as the best in the world.

Priego beyond the race

Priego de Córdoba is a jewel of the Córdoba baroque: the medieval Barrio de la Villa, the Fuente del Rey, the churches of La Asunción and La Aurora. Nearby are Zuheros, the Bats’ Cave and the Subbética greenway. See more races in Andalusia and plan your weekend with the planner.
