Lavaredo Ultra Trail: the Dolomites as a stage

Every June, Cortina d’Ampezzo fills with runners for the Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB, one of the most photogenic races on the calendar. The 120K winds through the landscapes of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Cristallo and Lake Misurina, with 5,800 m of positive elevation.

Five distances

  • 120K: 5,800 m D+
  • 80K: 4,600 m D+
  • 50K: 2,600 m D+
  • 20K: 1,000 m D+
  • 10K: 300 m D+

There are very runnable stretches between huts and long scree climbs. The start atmosphere in Cortina is among the best in Europe.

Storms and snow

In late June snow can linger on the passes and afternoon storms are frequent: always carry a windproof and a thermal layer.
