Burriac Xtrem

The Burriac Xtrem is an established date in the Catalan mountain calendar: since 2003 the Grup de Muntanya d’Argentona has organised it with the help of around 200 volunteers, and in 2026 it reaches its 24th edition.

It offers four race routes —29K, 22K, 16K and 11K— and an 11K walk, so it suits both the demanding mountain runner and first-timers.

A route through ridge and castle

The 29K is the flagship, with 29 km and 1,457 m of positive elevation, a 7:30 start and a 5h30 time limit. It passes points such as the Camí del Mal Pas (km 5.1), Can Genis, Òrrius and Can Raimí before returning to Argentona. The 22K (1,158 m D+), 16K (925 m D+) and 11K (581 m D+) share parts of the course, with staggered starts between 8:00 and 9:00.

November in the Serralada de Marina

The Serralada de Marina offers stony trails, pine forest and sea views very close to Barcelona. In November mornings are cool and trails can be damp, so prioritise grip and a windbreaker.

Argentona and the Maresme beyond the race

Argentona has a charming old town and is a short hop from both the Maresme coast and the mountains. It is worth using the weekend to visit Castell de Burriac or the nearby coast.
