Tamadaba Trail
Tamadaba Trail is the big trail event of north-west Gran Canaria. Starting and finishing in Agaete, it runs along island trails, tracks and short stretches of local road through the island’s mid-altitude area and the Tamadaba Natural Park, one of the most important pine forests in the Canary Islands. The 15th edition takes place on 28 November 2026.
There are three distances: the demanding Marathon 42K, the Half Marathon 22K and the Short 12K, designed for a first trail race.
A route between ravines and pine forest
The marathon packs 2,400m of positive elevation and the organisers rate its technical difficulty as very high. It passes checkpoints such as San Pedro, Presa de los Pérez, Las Lajas and Tamadaba before returning to Agaete. The half marathon has 1,400m D+ and the short race 500m D+.
November in Gran Canaria
Starts are early (7:30 for the marathon, 9:30 for the half and 10:00 for the short race) and the weather is usually mild, but wind can chill the high sections. The organisers can make a waterproof jacket mandatory depending on the forecast. Check the mandatory gear checklist before race day.
Agaete beyond the race
Agaete offers Puerto de las Nieves, the Dedo de Dios and a quiet valley village feel. If you like the island, see the races in the Canary Islands and plan your season with the planner.
