Cazorla, perched at the foot of the mountains, is the gateway to a territory of pine forests, crystal-clear rivers and exceptional biodiversity. The race pays tribute to Silvia Lara, a trail running icon in the area.

The course

The CxM Silvia Lara offers two distances through the Sierra de Cazorla trails:

  • Trail 21K — 1,291m D+. A demanding route through mountain trails in the Sierra de Cazorla, with stretches through pine forests and panoramic views
  • Trail 12K — 745m D+. A more accessible distance but with true mountain character

The terrain combines mountain paths, forest tracks and technical stretches through the natural surroundings of Cazorla. Altitude ranges from 626m to 1,159m.

Cazorla and its Natural Park

Cazorla is one of the most emblematic towns in Jaén and the main gateway to the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park. With over 200,000 hectares, it is Spain’s largest protected area and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
