CxM Deportes Parra Hervás
The CxM Deportes Parra Hervás is a popular mountain race starting from Hervás, one of the most charming villages in Extremadura, in the heart of the Ambroz Valley. Now in its 10th edition, the race offers two distances through the trails and natural paths of the mountains surrounding this historic Cáceres village.
The distances
Two options for all levels:
- CxM Long 21.5K — Mountain course for experienced runners, full of adventure, trails, elevation and stunning Ambroz Valley landscapes.
- CxM Short 10.5K — Promotional category along natural paths with spectacular scenery, ideal for those getting started in trail running.
The race is part of the Euroace Sport and Nature Circuit and the Cáceres Provincial Mountain Race Trophy, sanctioned by FEXME.
Hervás and the Ambroz Valley
Hervás is famous for its medieval Jewish quarter, declared a Historic-Artistic Site, with cobbled streets and timber-framed houses. The Ambroz Valley offers chestnut forests, oak groves and mountain landscapes that look their best in the full bloom of April spring.
Just a few kilometres away lies the Jerte Valley, whose cherry blossom in spring is one of Spain’s most celebrated natural spectacles. Combining the race with a visit to the Jerte in bloom makes for a perfect plan. Discover more races in Extremadura to complete your season.
Gastronomy
Northern Cáceres offers hearty mountain cuisine: extremeñas migas, lamb stew, local goat cheese and, of course, Jerte cherries. Baños de Montemayor, just 10 minutes away, has a thermal spa perfect for post-race recovery.
