Leguas de la Alpujarra

The Leguas de la Alpujarra are the big date of Alpujarra trail running: the XX Leguas at 106 km and ≈5,300 m, the XII Leguas at 65 km and ≈2,925 m and the XXR Relays, which split those 106 km between several runners. All start on 15 May 2027 from Pampaneira, in the heart of the Poqueira gorge.

The course

The route links the white villages of the Granada Alpujarra with their irrigation channels, farmhouses and mule tracks, climbing and descending between ravines up to high ground in the Sierra Nevada national park. The ground is runnable but demanding, with heat possible in May and aid stations in the villages along the way.
