Trail Comaminyana: what to expect

Trail Comaminyana brings mountain runners to Barruera (Lleida) on May 23, 2027. The organiser, Caraamon & Trail Comaminyana, offers 2 routes (21K / 13K) for people who enjoy trails and the atmosphere of a grassroots race. It starts in Barruera, in the Vall de Boí, and climbs towards Comaminyana peak (2,628 m) with Pyrenean views.

Route and elevation

  • 21K: 21 km with 1450 m of climbing.
  • 13K: 13 km with about 1000 m of climbing (estimate; no official figure published).

Expect a mix of trail, track and the odd technical descent. If it is your first time at this distance, start steady and save energy for the second half.

How to prepare

Combine weekend long runs with hill repeats. In the last six weeks, accumulate climbing similar to race day and practise descending, where most legs are lost. Train in the heat and rehearse your hydration, as the sun can weigh on open sections.

Gear and logistics

Shoes with medium lugs, a light pack with two bottles or soft flasks, gels and a warm layer are the basics. The Pack 360 on this page brings together gear, nutrition, accommodation and transport. Find more nearby events in the regional race list and plan your season with the planner.
