Trail del Infiernu

Trail del Infiernu is held every September in Ribadesella, one of the best-known seaside towns on the eastern Asturian coast. Organized by Ribadesella Trail Run, the event starts at the Paseo de la Grúa, next to the harbor, and heads into the mountains surrounding the town.

A route between coast and mountain

Both distances share the start at the Paseo de la Grúa:

  • Original Trail (21K) — 700m of elevation gain along the trails and tracks of the mountains around Ribadesella.
  • Speed Trail (11K) — 450m of gain, a more accessible distance that keeps the technical character of the route.

Early September on the coast

In early September, the eastern Asturian coast usually keeps good weather, with mild temperatures and sea humidity. The higher sections offer views of the Cantabrian Sea and the mouth of the Sella river.

Beyond the race in Ribadesella

Ribadesella is famous for the Descenso Internacional del Sella canoe race and its historic old town by the harbor. After the race, take the chance to visit Santa Marina beach or check out other races in the Asturias region. Check the race planner to organize the full weekend.
