Terrain
Andorra has no flat ground: the lowest valley sits around 840 m and everything climbs from there. Andorran trail mixes shepherd paths, glacial cirques with dozens of lakes, passes above 2,700 m and mountain pine forest. Long races chain summits and mountain huts with thousands of metres of climbing, and short ones are all about sustained gradients up from the valley-floor parishes.

Climate & best season
The trail season runs from June to September. In late May, on high-altitude courses, snow still lies above 2,300 m and pre-dawn temperatures hover around freezing. Afternoon storms are common in summer.
Trail culture
With just 468 km², Andorra packs in a very lively mountain culture: its seven parishes host historic races such as the Travessa d'Encamp, now past its fortieth edition. The country hosts rounds of the Spanish Ultra Trail Cup and is a regular altitude-training destination for European runners, with a network of mountain huts, waymarked paths and services built around the mountain runner.
