Climate in Umbria: Spring and autumn are the window: April and May give 10-20 °C with green hills, and October stays warm and dry. Summer really bites down in the valley (35 °C in July), although Monte Cucco and the Sibillini are better early in the morning. Winter is cold and damp, with snow above 1,200 m and fog on the hills: February and March races are run in mud.
