The Matterhorn in pairs mode

Cervino Matterhorn Ultra Race loops around the Matterhorn massif on the Italian side, based in Breuil-Cervinia, with four distances between 25 and 27 June 2027. The flagship is 70 km and 5,000 m of climbing run in pairs: both runners start, hit the checkpoints and finish together.

The rest of the programme is solo: 47 km with 2,900 m, 28 km with 1,800 m and 16 km with 700 m. All share the same scenery of snowfields, high lakes and huts under the south face of the Matterhorn.

A genuinely alpine course

The 70 km climbs the Valtournenche valley and the passes facing the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa, with snow patches well into June. There are hands-on sections and long scree descents.

Weather, kit and logistics

Late June in Cervinia means 5 °C at night and 18 °C by day, with possible afternoon storms. Mandatory kit is checked at bib collection and at some checkpoints.

Cervinia is 2 hours from Turin and 2 h 30 from Milan. Sleep in Breuil-Cervinia or Valtournenche: June beds are limited because many hotels open in July. More Aosta Valley races at /en/races/italia/valle-d-aosta/ and kit at /en/planner/.
