Climate in Andalusia: Andalusian summers are extreme inland, with temperatures exceeding 40 °C in low valleys. However, Sierra Nevada allows summer running above 2,000 meters with pleasant temperatures. Autumn and spring are the golden season: mild temperatures, long days and spectacular landscapes. Winter is viable on the coast and lower ranges, but snow covers Sierra Nevada from December to April.

Always carry a lightweight waterproof windbreaker in your pack: spring storms arrive without warning.
April is a transition month: you may need short sleeves in the valley and long sleeves at the summit in the same race.
Springs and streams usually carry water in April: even so, do not drink from natural sources without filtering.
