Climate in Occitania: Spring and autumn are the best windows: mild temperatures and less risk of extreme heat on the exposed plateau. Summer can exceed 35°C with barely any shade, which is why the Festival des Templiers is held in October, taking advantage of cooler temperatures and autumn light.

Tips for running in Occitania in august
If running in northern Spain, do not be complacent: fog and rain can appear even in August on the Cantabrian coast.
Carry salt tablets or electrolytes: in August the risk of hyponatraemia is real if you only drink water.
Make the most of cool hours for training: 7-10 AM and after 7 PM are the optimal windows.
