Climate in Hauts-de-France: Mild and windy all year, with frequent drizzle. Spring and September are the best windows: long days, mild temperatures and less mud. In winter the Channel wind knocks several degrees off the felt temperature.

Tips for running in Hauts-de-France in april

Always carry a lightweight waterproof windbreaker in your pack: spring storms arrive without warning.

April is a transition month: you may need short sleeves in the valley and long sleeves at the summit in the same race.

Springs and streams usually carry water in April: even so, do not drink from natural sources without filtering.
