III Backyard Aranjuez 2027: what you need to know
The O1R Backyard Aranjuez – Only One Race holds its third edition on Friday, June 11, 2027 at 7:30 pm at Estadio El Deleite in Aranjuez (Madrid). It is the easiest backyard to reach in the Madrid region: commuter rail from Atocha and parking next to the stadium.
Format and price
- A 6.706 km loop every hour, with a new start on the hour. Miss the cut-off or the start line and you are out.
- The winner is the last runner standing: the only one able to complete a lap alone.
- €75 from July 13 to October 19 and €85 from October 20 to May 31. Includes race bag, food and drinks from lap 1, finisher gift and medical assistance. See the race’s Pack 360 for registration, accommodation and gear.
What happened in 2026
Guzmán Calderón won with 20 laps (134.12 km, 3,600 m D+) and Sandra Armas set the women’s record with 17 laps (114.002 km). The overall record still belongs to Emilio Pérez: 27 laps in 2025. The race is streamed live on YouTube with drone footage.
Why this edition is different: you start at night
A 7:30 pm start means the first night arrives around lap 3 or 4 and the June plateau sun is waiting in the morning. Typical rookie mistakes: no spare headlamp, no layer for the small hours and no blister kit.
Your life zone
Every lap ends at the stadium, where you have 5-15 minutes to eat, change and return to the line. Bring a chair, spare clothes, two pairs of shoes and varied food. For your feet:
