Anaga Maratón

Anaga Maratón closes the curtain on the Canary Islands Skyrunning season with a double event in December: the KVertical on Friday the 4th and the K30 on Sunday the 6th. Under the Santa Cruz Extreme umbrella, this race bids farewell to the year by running through one of Tenerife’s most magical corners.

K30: Anaga’s flagship race

The K30 Anaga Maratón with 2,055 metres of elevation gain is the longest and most demanding course one can run in the Anaga massif. Thirty kilometres that distil everything that makes this mountain range special:

  • Anaga laurel forest — Tertiary relict woodland with fog, mosses, and ferns
  • Deep ravines — Descents and climbs through river beds that fall to the sea
  • Knife-edge ridges — Narrow trails with the Atlantic on both sides
  • Anaga hamlets — Passing through villages that have preserved rural life for centuries

KVertical Anaga

The 5 km Vertical Kilometre with 510m of elevation gain takes place on Friday and is an explosive race that serves as an appetiser for the K30. It is the final scoring event of the Vertical Fecamon Tour 2026.

Season finale in the Canaries

December in Tenerife is the antithesis of mainland winter. While continental Spain shivers, coastal temperatures here hover around 20 °C and Anaga is at its best: the humid laurel forest, green ravines, and winter light that etches the ridges against the Atlantic. A perfect way to close the running year.
