Trail Laxe dos Bolos

Trail Laxe dos Bolos is a mountain race starting from Caldas de Reis (Pontevedra) that crosses the Xiabre and Santa María ranges in the heart of Galicia’s Rías Baixas. In its 3rd edition, the 43 km distance hosts the 2026 Spanish Short Trail Championship, with World Athletics certification.

The course

Three distances sharing the spirit of the territory: waterfalls, rivers, traditional watermills and mountain trails through native forests.

  • Trail 43K — 2300 m of elevation gain crossing the Xiabre and Santa María mountains. Spanish Short Trail Championship with U23, open and masters categories. Four timed segments with prizes for fastest male/female.
  • Trail 20K — 1050 m D+ through the Segade and Santa María mountains. Sharing the final kilometres with the 43K, it’s a fun and demanding race scoring in the Galician ranking.
  • Trail 8K — 400 m D+ through the most iconic areas: watermills, tunnel and Segade waterfall with a new technical section. Open to U20, U18 and U16 categories.

Laxe dos Bolos

The race takes its name from a megalithic sanctuary discovered in the 20th century but operational for over 5000 years. A stone formation with ritual significance that connects runners with the deep history of the Galician landscape.
