Agoizko Mendi Lasterketa: the Aoiz mountain race
The Agoizko Mendi Lasterketa is the mountain race of Aoiz (Agoitz in Basque), organized since 2015 by the Angiluerreka M.T. club. In its 10th edition, this event has become a classic fixture on the Navarrese trail running calendar.
The 14 km course runs along trails, paths and single tracks through the Zarikieta range, connecting the town of Aoiz with the Lónguida Valley. It is the first race to link these two locations in the Navarrese Pre-Pyrenees through mid-mountain trails surrounded by stunning landscapes.

The race starts from the Kanpondoa sports complex in Aoiz and heads into the Zarikieta range along narrow trails and single tracks. The terrain combines forest tracks with more technical mountain sections, offering a demanding but accessible profile for runners with basic trail experience.

Aoiz: gateway to the Navarrese Pre-Pyrenees
Aoiz (Agoitz) is a service town 28 km from Pamplona, at the confluence of the Irati and Erro rivers. A historic capital of the Sangüesa merindad, it is an ideal starting point for exploring the Navarrese Pre-Pyrenees, the Lumbier Gorge and the Pyrenean valleys.
