Trail Vila de Cuntis

Trail Vila de Cuntis is a well-established mountain race in the Galician calendar, starting from Praza da Constitución in Cuntis, a thermal spa town in the province of Pontevedra. In its 12th edition, it offers three competitive distances through the municipality’s mountains.

The course

Three distances with start and finish in the heart of Cuntis:

  • Trail 21K — 1100 m of elevation gain through the municipality’s mountains. The flagship distance, with technical sections and views of the Rías Baixas.
  • Trail 15K — 750 m D+. A demanding course sharing sections with the 21K, ideal for runners looking for a challenge without the full distance.
  • Trail 10K — 450 m D+. The most accessible distance but with mountain character, perfect for getting started in Galician trail running.

Cuntis, thermal spa town

Cuntis is known for its medicinal thermal waters, with a tradition dating back to Roman times. After the race, few things beat soaking in the thermal baths to recover your legs. The town sits in the heart of the Rías Baixas, halfway between Santiago de Compostela and Vigo. Use our gear checklist to prepare for race day.

Food and surroundings

Pontevedra’s Rías Baixas offer some of Galicia’s finest gastronomy: seafood, octopus, empanada and Albariño wines. Cuntis and its surroundings (Caldas de Reis, Pontevedra, Cambados) are worth extra days to enjoy before or after the race.
