Ultra Trail Muntanyes Costa Daurada

Ultra Trail Muntanyes Costa Daurada (UTMCD) is a mountain race through the most spectacular corners of the Muntanyes de Prades and the Costa Daurada. Organized by Naturetime Events from Prades (Tarragona), it offers five distances from 7K to 64K and an 87K Stage Run that lets you experience the race in two stages.

The UTMCD takes runners along traditional mountain paths, dry stone walls and forests of red pine and cork oak. The route passes through some of the most impressive landscapes in southern Catalonia.

The course

The Ultra 64K has 3,000 metres of elevation gain and a 14-hour time limit. It starts from Prades and crosses the Muntanyes de Prades in a demanding loop.

Course highlights:

  • Siurana - One of the most spectacular natural viewpoints in southern Catalonia
  • Gorgs de la Febró - Natural pools in a Mediterranean forest setting
  • Foradada de Mont-ral - The natural rock window, icon of the Muntanyes de Prades
  • Red pine and cork oak forests - Technical trails through Mediterranean woodland

Race options

UTMCD offers five distances. The UTMCD 64K (3,000m D+) is the flagship race on Saturday. The MMCD 44K (1,744m D+) is the mountain marathon. The TMCD 23K (969m D+) and TMCD 11K (509m D+) run on Sunday. The Start Trail 7K (250m D+) is the family-friendly option for beginners.

There is also the Stage Run 87K, combining Saturday’s ultra with Sunday’s trail, totalling 4,000m D+ over two stages. You can enter individually or as a team.
