Backyard Haciendo Sed Burgos

Backyard Haciendo Sed takes place every August in Sedano, a village in northern Burgos nestled in the Valle de Sedano. It’s a charity race with all proceeds going to Asociación Autismo Burgos.

The format

The third edition starts on August 29, 2026 at 9:00 with the classic backyard ultra format: a 6.706 km loop every hour, until only one runner remains. The race can extend into the following day if the competitive level allows.

Sedano and the valley

Sedano is surrounded by plateaus, limestone canyons and holm oak forests. The northern Burgos landscape is austere and beautiful — far from the usual tourist routes. The loop runs through this low mountain setting with around 150 metres of elevation gain per lap.

Charity

What sets Haciendo Sed apart is its charitable component. In addition to the backyard category, there’s a solidarity walk open to everyone from €5. Over €1,000 in prizes are distributed across individual, women’s and team categories.

August on the northern plateau
