Subida a Tágara
Subida a Tágara is one of southern Tenerife’s longest-running mountain races. From Guía de Isora, runners climb through the municipality’s mid-altitude farmland, cross volcanic lava fields, and enter dense Canarian pine forest before reaching Tágara, at the foot of Mount Teide.
In its 15th edition, the race has established itself as the opening round of the Sky Fecamon Tour (Canary Islands Skyrunning Cup), attracting the archipelago’s top skyrunners and giving the event a high competitive edge.
The course
The main 32K race with 2,029 metres of elevation gain is a demanding ascent combining:
- Guía de Isora mid-altitude zone — Agricultural trails between dry-stone terraces
- Volcanic lava fields — Technical sections over lava and ash
- Canarian pine forest — Pine woodland between 1,000 and 2,000 metres altitude
- Tágara — Finish at one of the municipality’s highest points, with views of Teide
