Climate in Castile and Leon: The continental climate imposes extreme conditions. Winters are harsh, with abundant snow in the ranges until May, while July and August bring stifling heat on the plateau and storms at high altitude. Tips for running in Castile and Leon in august
If running in northern Spain, do not be complacent: fog and rain can appear even in August on the Cantabrian coast.
Carry salt tablets or electrolytes: in August the risk of hyponatraemia is real if you only drink water.
Make the most of cool hours for training: 7-10 AM and after 7 PM are the optimal windows.
