Ultra-Trail Races in Spain 2026
Ultra-trail races are the ultimate trail running challenge: distances exceeding 80 kilometres, thousands of metres of accumulated elevation and stages that stretch from dawn well into the night (or longer). Spain hosts some of Europe's most prestigious ultra-trails, from UTMB-qualifying events to races that cross national parks end to end. Effort management, race nutrition, sleep strategy in the longest events and mental fortitude are just as important as your legs. Gear takes on a special dimension: a headlamp with spare battery, spare clothing in a drop bag, nutrition planned to the gram. If you have already run mountain marathons and are looking for the next level, ultra-trails await with courses that will change you as a runner. Each race includes Pack 360 with detailed logistics so you can focus on what matters: finishing.

Tips
Plan nutrition in detail: you will need 200-300 kcal/hour and your stomach must be trained for it.
Carry two headlamps and spare batteries — night sections are inevitable at ultra distances.
Train with full gear on long runs: loaded pack, spare clothing, poles and all nutrition.
Mental management is key: split the race into short segments and focus on reaching the next aid station.
