Jurramendi 360

The Jurramendi 360 is a mountain race covering the iconic Montejurra (1,046m) and its surroundings in the heart of Navarra. With start and finish in Ayegui, next to Estella-Lizarra, the event offers three distances for all levels.

The race, formerly known as Trail Montejurra, is the Navarre individual mountain running championship and takes place every year in March.

The course

The main 25-kilometre course with 1,700 metres of elevation gain starts from Plaza Baja de Navarra in Ayegui and climbs the southern slope of Montejurra. Runners will pass through:

  • Mirador La Pila (km 7.2) — First panoramic views of central Navarra
  • San Cipriano (km 8.4) — Romanesque chapel on the northern flank
  • Ermita de San Sebastián (km 9.6) — Landmark on the northern descent
  • Montejurra Summit (km 20.2, 1,046m) — The highest point on course
  • Árbol de Piedra (km 21.2) — Iconic rock formation
  • Irache Monastery (km 25.3) — Medieval monastery next to the famous wine fountain

The three distances

The Jurramendi 360 45K (D+ 2,400m) is the flagship event, a demanding route through the entire sierra with an 8-hour time limit. The Jurramendi Trail 25K (D+ 1,700m) is the classic distance with a 5-hour 30-minute time limit. The Txiki Trail 12K (D+ 700m) is perfect for getting started in mountain trail, with a 2-hour 30-minute time limit. Use our pace calculator to plan your splits across the different distances.

Terrain and difficulty

The terrain is varied: beech forest trails, limestone ridgelines, forest tracks and technical mountain sections. Altitude ranges from 443 metres in Ayegui to 1,046 metres at the Montejurra summit. In March, expect possible mud and cool temperatures.

How to get there

Ayegui is next to Estella-Lizarra, in central Navarra, 45 minutes from Pamplona via the AP-15. The area is on the Camino de Santiago and has good accommodation options. The Irache Monastery and its famous wine fountain are well worth a visit.
