Camille Extreme

Camille Extreme is a mountain race held in Isaba, in the heart of the Roncal Valley (Navarrese Pyrenees). In 2026, it celebrates its 20th edition, firmly established as one of the flagship trail running events in Navarra and the Pyrenees.

The main race covers 32 kilometers with 2,044 meters of elevation gain, with the ascent to Ezkaurre peak (2,047m) as the course highlight. The mountain weekend is completed by the Cannelle Trail (13K) and the Ardibidepikua Bertikala vertical race (3.2K).

The Camille Extreme 32K course

Start at 08:00 from Isaba. The course runs almost entirely on singletrack (89.7%), with minimal forest track (7.8%) and paved road (2.5%). Runners will pass through:

  • Initial section shared with Cannelle Trail — First kilometers through the forests above Isaba
  • Ezkaurre ascent (2,047m) — The highest and most demanding point, with technical rocky terrain
  • Ezkaurre descent — A steep, technical downhill — one of the most iconic sections
  • 7 aid stations + finish — Control points and aid stations spread throughout the course

The time limit is 6 hours (course closes at 14:00).

Cannelle Trail 13K

The Cannelle Trail is the short race: 13 km with 900m of elevation gain. Start at 08:30 from Isaba. The route climbs from Isaba (800m) to Punta Armaia (1,700m) and descends back to the village. The last 5 km feature a vertiginous descent. 200 spots available.

Ardibidepikua Bertikala (Vertical)

The vertical race takes place on Saturday, June 13: 3.2 km and 800 meters of elevation gain from the Erminea frontón square in Isaba to the summit of Larratza (1,587m). Start at 10:00. A pure test of strength and verticality with panoramic views of the Roncal Valley and Ezkaurre.

Terrain and difficulty

High Pyrenean mountain terrain: technical trails, rock, forest, and ridges above 2,000 meters. Difficulty is advanced due to the combination of elevation gain, technical terrain, and Ezkaurre’s altitude. In June, conditions at high altitude may include residual snow on the highest sections.

How to get there

Isaba is the largest village in the Roncal Valley, in the eastern Navarrese Pyrenees. It’s 90 km from Pamplona via the NA-137 (Roncal Valley road, through Lumbier). Also accessible from France (Pau is 100 km via the Col de la Pierre Saint-Martin). The valley offers accommodation in guesthouses and hostels, but booking early is essential. Plan your Pyrenean season with the race planner and check the mountain race gear guide before taking on Ezkaurre.
