Trail Vielha-Molières 3010

Trail Vielha-Molières 3010 is a pure skyrunning event in the heart of Val d’Aran, in the central Pyrenees. Three mountain races ranging from the 13 km Tuca Trail to the 43 km Molières Marathon, which summits Molières peak at 3,010m, the roof of the valley.

It is the only race in the Spanish Pyrenees to summit a 3,000m peak, giving it a unique character among mountain races in the peninsula. The organization defines all three races as “pure skyrunning” and requires real mountain experience from all participants.

The courses

The flagship race, the Molières Marathon (43 km, 4,200m D+), starts from Vielha at 06:30 and summits 5 peaks above 2,100m, including Molières at 3,010m. Much of the course runs above 2,000m, with technical ridgelines, scree fields, and glacial lakes.

The Montpius Skyrace (23 km, 1,800m D+) crowns 4 peaks above 2,000m, with Montpius (2,270m) as the high point. Around 90% of the course runs on high-mountain trails with spectacular views of Aneto and Maladeta.

The Tuca Trail (13 km, 917m D+) runs through the lush fir forest of La Tuca up to 1,750m. Ideal for getting started in mountain trail running or for runners looking for speed in a natural setting.

Val d’Aran

The Val d’Aran is the only Atlantic-facing valley in the Spanish Pyrenees. Its oceanic microclimate creates a unique landscape of lush forests, fast-flowing rivers, and alpine meadows. Vielha, the capital, offers a perfect base with good hotel infrastructure, restaurants, and services.

The race takes place in July, coinciding with the best season for skyrunning in the Pyrenees. The festive atmosphere in Vielha complements the demanding races. Explore more races in Catalonia and use our race planner to organize your season.
