Alto Rey Trail 2025
Recommended sun protection
The summer solstice is the longest day of the year. Altitude (up to 1,850m) intensifies UV radiation. Sun protection is essential.
Topical sun protection products specific to trail running: SPF 50+ sport sunscreen resistant to water and sweat, SPF lip balm and after-sun for recovery. At altitude, UV radiation increases by 10-12% per 1,000 metres, making sun protection not an extra but mandatory gear.
Based on historical data from the last 10 years
☀️ 13 hours of sunshine expected. Reapply SPF 50+ every 2 hours.
