Ibiza Trail Maratón Festival

The Ibiza Trail Maratón Festival is the premier trail running event in Ibiza, organized by Club Deportivo Es Puig Ibiza. With 3 distances from 11K to 48K, the race explores the island’s most beautiful landscapes through trails, beaches, and inland paths.

The 2026 edition takes place on October 24, starting and finishing at the Paseo Marítimo in Sant Antoni de Portmany.

The distances

  • Maratón 48K — The flagship race: 48 km with 1,600m of elevation gain. Starts at 7:30 AM with a 7-hour-30-minute time limit. Traverses the most mountainous interior of Ibiza.
  • Media 28K — 28 km with 900m D+. Starts at 8:30 AM. The most popular distance, sells out first.
  • Starter 11K — 11 km with 300m D+. Starts at 10:00 AM. Perfect for trail running beginners.

The course

The Ibiza Trail Maratón trails reveal the lesser-known side of the island: Mediterranean pine forests, rural paths between dry stone walls, hidden coves, and sections through the mountainous interior. Varied terrain combining forest tracks, technical trails, and coastal sections with Mediterranean views.

Ibiza in October

October is the ideal time to visit Ibiza away from the summer crowds: pleasant temperatures (18-24°C), quiet beaches, and low-season prices. The island offers much more beyond the party scene: local gastronomy, charming villages like Santa Gertrudis and Sant Joan, unspoiled coves, and spectacular sunsets from the west coast beach bars.

Combining the race with a few days of holiday is an excellent way to discover the most authentic side of Ibiza. Check out our gear checklist to make sure you are prepared for Mediterranean trail conditions.

Registration

Registration opens on March 1 and is divided into 3 periods with increasing prices. The Media 28K sells out first (500 spots), so register early. The Maratón 48K has 500 spots and the Starter 11K another 500.
